Watching God work

The other night I was doing the Bible study I made on the women’s retreat (great workshop by Elizabeth Griffin!) with my 10-year-old son Nic. Celebrating God’s grace on Mother’s Day

I’ve never really liked Mother’s Day, to tell you the truth. It either makes me think that I deserve recognition for being a mother, which, when my kids were young, never seemed to happen so I ended up disappointed; or it makes me feel unworthy of the flowers and gifts because, in all honesty, I make a lot of mistakes as a mom. If it weren’t for God’s grace, I would have given up on being a mom a long time ago!

A Christian perspective on chemical dependency treatment

Before I worked as a journalist, I spent nine years working as a chemical dependency counselor. During that time, I was blessed to play a small role in the recovery of many wonderful people who had made the decision to give up drugs and alcohol. It was an amazing, beautiful thing to witness their new lives, free from the oppression and bondage of addiction. Read Entire Post…
