Women
There are many opportunities for the women at Calvary Fellowship to grow in the Word and in relationship to one another. The Friday night CFSD classes usually offer a Women’s Bible class for equipping and discipleship in God’s Word. The Thursday Morning Women’s Study (9:30 am – 11:30 am in the Fireside Room) provides a verse by verse study in a book of the Bible. There is group worship with all the women followed by a 40 minute teaching on the verses. The ladies have homework for the assigned passage and get together with the same small group every week to discuss the study, pray, and support each other. There are many opportunities for luncheons, showers, and get-togethers for fellowship. The cost for the study is $25 per semester, which covers materials and childcare from newborn to kindergarten.
The Women’s Prayer Group has a Monday evening prayer time at 6:30 pm in the Jr. High room. We are always in the process of training and raising up women to host small prayer groups in their homes and places of work. The format involves praise, intercession, thanksgiving, and silent confession.
The Annual Women’s Retreat, the third weekend of every May, is held at Cascades Retreat Center near Yelm. This is a wonderful time away at a mountain lake and lodge with some of the best teaching available. We have had well-known Christian authors like Dee Brestin and Margaret Jensen. The worship time, fellowship, and teaching surely provides a life changing experience for all who attend, and a yearly highlight for the women of Calvary Fellowship.
